330,000+ Business Services Sector Jobs to Be Lost by 2013

According to the Centre For Economics and Business Research (cebr), some 330,000 jobs will be lost across the business services sector in the next five years. This amounts to over half of the jobs gained in the sector in the last five years.

The cebr predicts that those sectors that rely on the investment cycle, discretionary budgets and public spending will suffer the most and it predicts that ‘advertising’ is likely to be the worst hit. It expects 15,000 jobs in the advertising sector to go by 2013.

Other sub-sectors – such as real estate activities; accountancy and audit; market research and management consultancy; architecture, engineering and technical services – are also forecast to shed thousands of jobs over the next five years.
