Age Matters in a Downturn

We know that Britain’s population is getting older. For the first time ever in the UK there are more people over 65 than under 16. This is good news – it means we are healthier and are living longer than our predecessors. And yet with organisations across the board looking for ways to trim costs in order to survive the recession, we are hearing that it’s older workers who are bearing the brunt of many redundancies.
