Redress: Dealing with a Case of Discrimination

This guide provides information on how to deal with suspected cases of discrimination - because in most cases it is individual workers, jobseekers, trainees and their representatives who have to take formal action if the Age Regulations are not complied with.

It highlights changes to the statutory grievance procedures and the introduction of the Acas Code of Practice.  It also covers procedures for employees bringing cases about discriminatory action (other than dismissals); dismissals; and the retirement procedure.  It explains that discrimination law requires claimants to demonstrate they have been treated less favourably than others and provides information on comparators in discrimination cases.
