AARP Best Employers for Workers Over 50 Award - International

TAEN is collaborating with the US-based AARP to promote the AARP Best Employers for Workers Over 50 Award - International (formerly AARP International Innovative Employer Award). The award recognises non-US based employers whose innovative workforce and/or human resource practices address issues relevant to 50+ workers and create roadmaps for the workplace of tomorrow. This programme runs parallel to AARP’s Best Employers for Workers Over 50 Award, which has recognised US-based companies for good workforce and human resource practices since 2001.

As workplace policies of general application are often also beneficial to older workers, programmes targeted at this age group are not required to be eligible for the award. Programmes of particular value to the 50 and older age group may, however, earn additional credit in the evaluation.

UK and Channel Island Winners 2010
The BT Group, Centrica, Guernsey Post and the University of Central Lancashire were winners of the international award in 2010.
See TAEN’s press release.
